ROM NAME
==============================================================================================

04-ram-IC16 (Williams sys7)

PINCODER ADAPTER SETTINGS
==============================================================================================

JP1   JP2   DIP SWITCHES

2-3   2-3   --11--1-

PURPOSE
==============================================================================================

This ROM tests the READ and WRITE capabilites of the following chip:

    * Schematic name: IC16

    * Address range: $1000 to $13FF

    * Data bus mask: $0F

    NOTE: If this test fails and you are running this test on a system 7 board that has been
    correctly jumpered to run a system 3-6a board then keep in mind that the results from
    these .bin files will still be valid however due to the design of the system 7 board this
    test is unable to determine WHICH ram chip is actually faulty. In this case either replace
    BOTH ram chips, or jumper the board as a system 7 and run the ram tests using the sys7
    .bin files in order to correctly determine WHICH ram chip is faulty. You do not need to do
    any of this if all of the ram tests pass.

PROCEDURE
==============================================================================================

While this test is running observe the LEDs on the MPU board. Test repeats once for each
flash. You can gently wiggle the chip in its place while the test is running. If you get
different results then you should check the solder connections on the chip socket and/or
replace the socket.

EXPECTED RESULTS
==============================================================================================

Positive: Top LED flashes. You can move on to the next test.

Negative: Bottom LED flashes. One or more memory locations inside the chip is bad.

    NOTE: Due to the the design of the system 7 board the LED segment display will show
    seemingly nonsensical values for this test regardless of whether the test passes or
    fails. Ignore the segment display and rely on the LEDs themselves.

    NOTE: When looking at the two RAM chips on a System 7 board, RAM1 (IC13) is the chip on
    the right, and IC16 is on the left.
